I am a painter
of human landscapes.... yes, the subject of my paintings has been
almost solely the figure, because as Mexican writer Octavio
Paz says: I search for myself in the others... Since I have memory,
starring at paintings has always lead me to fascination.
On year 2000 a painting by E. Schiele touched
me so deeply that I decided to pick up the brushes myself, and
since then I couldn't stop...
I left my job and became a full time painter..... now I can
hardly see myself doing something else...
When I am in front of a canvas I loose the sense of time...
what I like most is that I may see things I have never seen
before, and
I enter in a state of joy and pleasure I can hardly explain
with words.
My work is influenced by many currents through time, above all
German Expressionism....but the artists I find more influential
are British painter Euan Uglow, French painter Bernard Cathelin,
Mexican painter Pedro Coronel and of course my muse, Austrian
painter Egon Schiele. My work has been exhibited in Mexico,
Italy, Germany, Ireland and China.
Please do take a look to my galleries
and if you have any comments or questions please do write me
in one of my blogs: Human
Landscapes (a blog made by art critic R. Malfatti where
we both make comments and I paste pics of my exhibitions) or
Odettes (a blog where
I write about art and post my recent work)
